If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
- Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
- Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
- Open iTunes.
- Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

May 24, 2012 10:51 PM in response to craigr76by pictureme2,Yes, This is happening to me right now. I connect my Apple Tv and it only shows the Apple Logo. I took it to the Genius bar and they repalced it after they realized it didn't work.
Now, I am home with the replacement which is doing the same thing. However, this time, we made sure the replacement worked at the apple Store. Oh, we did the apple restore process like 5 times.
The genius also told me there is a cable I should purchase for $ 70 bucks (3rd party).
I will have a new TV in a couple of weeks. But i wish someone could figure this out.

Did you plug the TV unit back into the AC power as well? The micro USB cord alone will not power the device.
