Hey,
If you double-click on the soundtrack you can open it up in the inspector tab and lower the soundtrack so that you can hear the audio from the video clip.
A great resource for finding answers to questions like this is http://www.imovietutorialhelp.com
You can ask questions just like these and they will be answered for you. If you need a tutorial video made or anything like that, you can go there as well and ask for a video to made as well. Check it out.
If you still have questions on how to do this, they can help you for sure.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my video or link.
thanks
but
what happens if you want to only mute a section of the sound track?
There are other useful sourcs of information on using iMovie other than the one theimovieguy links to everywhere because he owns it:
iMovie 11 tutorials:
http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/#imovie
and also this:
What you can do is click on that soundtrack and go up to CLIP- SPLIT CLIP. What that will do is split your soundtrack clip so that you then can just mute that one part of the clip and it won't effect the rest of the clip. Does that make sense? You will even see the soundtrack split in the project timeline. Let me know if that helps!
And yes, you can go to a lot of other sites for tutorials and information regarding iMovie.
good website iMovie guy, can i ask you to make a video on how to mute sections of an audio peice so you can hear the audio from the video clip?
cheers
I can definitely do that!! I can have it up tonight. I hope that works for you. Please ask if you ever have any questions.
ok, well just by having a fiddle I have found out how to do it.
Click on the audio clip
settings button
Audio adjustments
Under the heading 'Ducking' tick the box for 'Reduce volume of other tracks'
then if you want no background noice slide the bar to 0% but if you want to hear the other sound track slide it to around 15 - 30%
kinda helped myself here! but thanks anyways.
Sorry if you have already started your video, but I am sure it will help others!
and I will be using your website again
Cheers
Will
