Where are movies purchased from apple tv stored?

I purchased a few movies from apple tv (not rented) and wanted to watch them on my computer. Where are the located? Can I only watch them through apple tv?

Purchased movies are not actually stored on the Apple TV. If you wish to watch or store them on your computer, then you must re-download them from "Purchased" in the QuickLink section on the iTunes store homepage in iTunes on your computer.

What happens when they won't download to the computer because the movies purchased were HD and the computer won't support HD playback?
