QT Player 7.6.6 on Lion 10.7.4

My question relates to QT Player 7, I do not use Pro. I am on an Air, 10.7.4, QT Player 7.6.6. After a software update a few days ago, the player lost the option to loop video, specifically GIF's, MOV's, MPG's or AVI's. QT Player 10.1 will still loop a video, but is cruddier in other ways - no speed control, and won't play gif's anyway.

Anyone know why this functionality was lost, or is it just my system?

For those of you who use Pro, does it still loop?

BTW, QT Player 7.6.6 still loops in OS 10.6.8, just Lion seems to have changed.
