so i have the app find my iphone and it says LOCATION UNAVAILABLE WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AND WHAT GOOD IS THIS APP?

Does the device you are trying to locate have the find my iPhone service turned on? (It's part of iCloud)

The app only serves to locate a different device. Having the app has nothing to do with locating your own device, though if the service is turned on, it should show you your location as long as you've enabled the service and the phone has a data connection.

Simply having the app does NOT allow you to track the phone.

It needs:

A) An Internet connection

B) Location Services enabled

C) Find my iPhone enabled IN SETTINGS under Settings > iCloud
