how do I restore deleted text messages from an iCloud backup?

I mistakenly deleted an important text conversation - swiping and deleting the wrong conversation. My iphone is backed up to icloud, but not on my conputer. Are there steps I can take to restore the deleted text messages from the icloud backup? If so what are they and where will I find the restored messages after the process? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi again - thank you very much for the feedback. It is actually a conversation over 3 days that is quite important so if I can recover it, I would like to.

As for the actual process, the most recent back up was prior to my deletion. Three last questions (I hope...):

1) How will I know what I need to redownload from itunes?

2) Is this link the best in terms of the literal steps to take to do the restore:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

3) Is there anything I should do to the phone before I begin the restore process?

Again, thank you for your time - very much appreciate the expert advice.

Since you have iCloud backup of your iPhone, you can restore from the iCloud backup directly.

See the steps at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766

If you don’t want to erase all the content and settings on your iPhone, replace them with the old data in the iCloud backup and lose the data generated after the backup. You can use the iPhone backup extractor to extract the text conversion from the iCloud backup.

In addition, there are other ways to retrieve deleted text messages on iPhone that may help.

I think recovering deleted text messages is easy now because you have backed up them on your iPhone. Before recovery, you should use your phone as less as possible in case the data in it will be covered. You can get help from some iPhone Data Recovery and refer to its guide of how to retrieve deleted text messages on iPhone or anything else related to how it works in restoring deleted text messages.

As far as I know, there are three ways to recover deleted files from iPhone. You can choose one suitable way as you like.

Way 1: Recover text messages from iPhone directly

Way 2: Using iTunes Backup to recover text messages

Way 3: Using iCloud Backup to recover text messages

Since you have iCloud backup, you can refer the way 3 to recover SMS from your iPhone iCloud backup.

Many iPhone users are worried about losing messages. So do I.

After I have tried FonePaw iPhone Data Recovery, it came to my rescue.

If you have backed up iPhone data to iTunes before, you can easily retrieve deleted text messages from iPhone in 3 steps.
