Try using a shorter network name (SSID) and password. You need to have access to the router's internal settings....

I had this exact same problem when I switched to Verizon FiOS.

The issue is the number of characters in the SSID and password. By default the new FiOS routers come configured with VERY long SSIDs and passwords. This is good from a security stand point, but iPods (and probably other iOS devices) don't like long SSIDs and passwords.
