Regarding multiple language in same domain name

Hello,

I would like to inform you that I've already created and published my website using iweb in English, but now i want to make it with other two languages(Danish&German). I have read almost all the discussion regarding this, but still couldn't got the clear idea how it would be !

I was wondering if i created another two new sites in iweb with the name of www.newwebsite.com/de/ , and another with one in www.newwebsite.com/dk/, then what changes i need to do for going to published the site in same domain?

Do i need to change url or directory/path too? I don't want to learn about mobile me or something else. I've already have domain name. I just want to make my website with other languages so that people will find easily and choose their own language for information in my site!

I would highly appreciate if anyone provide me the whole instruction for making my site with 2 more languages.

Thanking you

Create sites en, de, dk.

Publish to the same directory on the server as you now do.

No need to create folders.

To link to and from each site, maker hyperlinks to "one of my pages".

Dear Wyodor,

Thank you very much for your quick response with very useful instruction, but i regret to inform you that I am not good in computer staff, and that's why i could not able to understand about the "hyperlinks" "links"!

Please let me explain my situation one more time in details. I have created a website in English, suppose with the name of "Website" and in this page, it is all about the site publishing setting. My site publishing setting is as follows:

Published to: FTP server

Site name: Website

Contact email: website@gmail.com

FTP Server settings:

Server address: .......................

user name:......................

Password.........

directory/path: /www/website.dk

Protocal: FTP Port: 21

Website URL: http://www.website.dk

Now i want to know what actually i need to do to make my website in other two languges i.e in Danish and German. Will it be as simple as i just need to create another site and follow the same setting with different site name, and then click on published site?

I would highly appreciate for your time and helpful advice.

Thanking you

Mak

Except for the sitename, all the settings are the same.

And especially the pathname should be exactly the same.

For easy identification name each site dk, en and de.

The site at the top of the list will be the default site when you only type your domainname :

http://www.domainname.dk

And hyperlinks are what you click on in a webpage.

The iWeb Help will explain how to use them on a page.

Dear Wyoder,

Thank you very much for your support. I'd like to inform you that after making more two sites with different name as website.dk website.en website.de , I didn't face any problem with publishing it, but can not see any changes!

Could you please teach me how can i see 3 flags or option in my homepage where people can select their own language? I have read some other discussion too where you suggested managed website by linking ! I just not able to understand what was that and how i suppose to organized my website so that it will be possible to make my website with 3 different languages?

Thanking you

Referring to my earliers posts, procede as follows.

Add a site. Assume Danish.

Add pages and type Danish texts.

Add a site. Assume German.

Add pages and type German texts.

Add a site. Assume English.

Add pages and type English texts.

On each page add flags of each nation.

Select a flag and make it an Hyperlink. Link to any of your other pages :

Inspector > hyperlink icon > select "one of my pages".

You now have 3 sites.

www.domain.com/dk/

www.domain.com/de/

www.domain.com/en/

The default site is the one at the top of the list in the sidebar.
