Lost the audio to the tv from the cable overnight. There used to be a pause when you plugged in the cable then video and audio went to tv.
now only the video is working. Repair guys say my air is fine and so is the cable.
Any ideas

Yes I did the funny thng is this happened overnight with no changes to any equipment.

Try doing a smc reset and see if that clears the problem.

One you probably won't like! Revert to 10.7.3. I've seen a lot of strange reports of various things "breaking" with that 10.7.4 update.
...or did this problem start occurring before you added the 10.7.4 update?
I think I will leave that to to the end. I don't have a time machine only a passport. Also I bought it with the 10.7.3
