SDHC Card

Hello

I have SanDisk SDHC Card which I use in my camera. I want to inport images from it but when I intert it in the SD Card Slot it does not read it. Please help me how and what to do in it. I am using MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Intel Core i7 4GB.
