iphone 3gs screen went very dim

If you cannot turn up the Screen Brightness in the Settings App, then this is the "No Backlight Problem". It is most often caused by water exposure. The problem is either the Display LCD which needs replacement or the Logic Board LCD controllers are faulty. Most often it is Logic Board Chip 6R8 Coil. Try a Reset, this is simple and corrects many iPhone problems.
