You cannot add 3G capability to a wifi only iPad. Mifi is the way to

go - check with the wireless carriers in your area to see what they

offer.

You can't convert the actual iPad, but you can use an iPhone (if you carrier supports it) as a personal hotspot for the iPad, and you can get mifi devices (which use sim cards) - have a look in the stores of the carriers in your country for 'mifi' or 'mobile internet' (you won't be able to use any that need to be connected by USB).

You will probably need to get a local sim card to use with it, otherwise you will run the risk of high roaming charges and/or it not working with your home sim.
