iMAC 21" WIFI failing after 10.7.4 update

Hi,

Before the 10.7.4 update the WIFI connection from the iMac 21.5" to the airport extreme router works fine!

Now it's failing several times a day! it looses the wifi connection and you are unable to see any wireless accesspoints or SSID's

Macbook pro, iphone & ipad + PC's still works fine!

The only way to get the wireless up and working again is to shutdown and restart the iMac.

Please help, there must be a serious bug in this update any solution available to solve it?

In the log i can see alot, don't know if this is some clue or error occuring just after the wireless connection is dropped for unknown reasons.

"kernel: 2329.723808: ath_chan_set: unable to reset cannel XX (XX00Mhz) flags 0x10080 hal status 17"

"kernel: 2632.354892: ASSERT: Can not reenter VAP State Machine"

"kernel: AirPort: Link Down on en1. Reason 8 (Disassociated because station leaving)."

Turning off and on the wireless interface only shows the following in the log, and the wifi will not see any SSID's :

"kernel: 71847.200440: switchVap from 1 to 1"

Exact same problem here - can't reproduce it reliably, though. One minute everything is OK, then suddenly my iMac (21,5", i5) can't find _any_ Wi-Fi networks, even though my apartment building is full of them, our two iPhones and two MacBooks (Pro and Air) keep on working. Only started after the 10.7.4. update. Really frustrating.

But if you do enable "Suspend computer" in powersettings i guess you will get the old problem back again..

(I did the remove all network parts and add a new location and it seems to work as long as i do not enable the suspend computer in power options.. But maybe it will get back again....)

If i do run the combo update now when i have 10.7.4, will it cause me to lose some other settings software installations / documents etc?

Only full restart helped. I have saved logs just after wake up and immediately after reboot so if anybody want to analyze it, just e-mail me.

Hi same problem as all

Updated 2011 iMac 27" to 10.7.4 (using Airport Extreme wifi) and it drops the wifi somewhere between once every few hours and once every 20 or 30 minutes. The iMac cannot see any wifi networks when this happens. As with others Airbook, iPad, and iPhone all still see the wifi network. Only solution is to restart the Mac.

This *****. Apple please provide fix.

As "wifiguru" and other threads mention, installing the 10.7.4 combo update might solve the problem, but...

Don't bother! Just did it, and the issue remains.

I have now connected my iMac using a long cable running from one end of the house to the other. This goes very nice with the beatiful and expensive look of the iMac :-/
