The DUR2SECONDS function converts a duration value to a number of seconds.

A second possibility is: go to the inspektor-panel and chooes format "duration". Pick the slider and set it to mm:ss.
Now: pick the left edge of the slider and drag it to the right. Now the duration changes from "xx:xx" to "xx". This works with the right edge too. When you expand the slider you get "xx:xx:xx".

AW,
It is good to keep your suggestion in mind for those occasions when fractions of seconds aren't needed, and for when you want to stay in the Duration value type.
Your suggestion and mine are quite different, but in some cases either may suffice.

The Duration format suggested by AW can handle fractional parts of seconds as well:
The choice seems to boil down to whether the user wants to retain the Duration value type or convert to a number value.

Barry,
Thanks - the difference between your suggestion and AW's is that you selected ms as well as seconds.
A good tip, since it may not be obvious that ms would be displayed as seconds with, three places after the decimal, whereas there is no decimal option with seconds only.
