How to set vendor specific options on my DHCP client.

My company only permits devices on its network that send a very specific vendor ID in the DHCP client DISCOVER or INFORM message. This option is option 43. In Linux it is possible to set vendor specific options in the dhcp.conf file. These options are then sent in the DISCOVER message which is sent from the client to the DHCP server. When the server matches the vendor specific options string to its pre-defined string, it then returns a VLAN ID to the client. The clien t then sets the VLAN ID and sends a new DHCP DISCOVER to get a valid IP on that VLAN.

Is it possible in 10.7 to set vendor specific options for the DHCP client to send? Or do I have to write my own DHCP client to do this?

Thanks.
