This is what I tried (ie going into preferences then devices then re sync history) but it didnt work. I have just run a diagnostic prrogramme too and it appears that the PC isnt recocnising the ipod touch either, Stuck !

I'm getting the same problem with both my IPad 4 and iPhone 5

Just started a few weeks back, Since then I have had two Itunes updates.

Is this something Apple is aware of and trying to fix?
