My ipad is talking to me when it's locked...

Hi I'm the new iPad user..so like 10 minutes ago I was trying to unlock my ipad but it started talking to me, telling me what each button is.

It won't let me unlock..All it does is telling me the time, what each button is used for (e.g: picture frame, slide to unlock, enter passcode, etc)
I searched on the internet and it seems like the VoiceOver is turned on?? but I never turned it on, did it activate by itself?
Please help me unlock the ipad & turn off the voiceover 😟

iPad, VoiceOver

Try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns VoiceOver off - if it does then you can change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home.

If it doesn't then touch or tap the field that you want to use/select and it should get a box around it ; then double-tap that field to activate/type it. Once you've entered your passcode you can do the same (i.e. touch to select, double-tap to activate) to gradually get into Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off (with VoiceOver 'on' you need to use 3 fingers to scroll up and down the screen).

So to enter your passcode you first need to tap the 'slide to unlock' button to highlight it (it should get a box around it), then double-tap it to unlock it. Then for your passcode tap the digit that you want and it should get a box around it; then double-tap that digit to type it; and similar for the other three digits in your passcode.

King_Penguin has the best answer- missing 1 step though. On my I-pad the steps were:

Try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns VoiceOver off - if it does then you can change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut (bottom of page) > Select whatever is selected, to unselect (remove check mark). DONE!!!
