I just purchased an Epson Workforce 545 and I have the 10.7.4 update. I can't get any software update to work for this printer.

I just purchased an Espon Workforce 545 All in one printer and I have the 10.7.4 latest update. I can't get any software updates to work for this printer.

Help. Do I have to undo my latest update back to 10.7 (which I don't know how to do) or do I have to return printer. Then what?

Thanks for the reply. It is odd that you are getting the message because this Apple article does show your Epson Workforce 545 as having drivers available for 10.7 (and that is any version of 10.7).


With the driver that you downloaded from Epson also not working, I suggest you disconnect the Epson's USB cable from the Mac and then open Finder and navigate to HD > Library > Printers > Epson and trash the contents of this folder. You can then empty the Trash and then run the driver installer that you downloaded again. When this has completed, open Print & Scan and then reconnect the Espon USB cable. If the driver has installed correctly the printer should be automatically added to the Print & Scan window.

Yes, when I click to add the printer it starts searching for the updated software, but then I get an error that reads:

"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software".


I've gone to Epson's website and have downloaded their latest driver for 10.7.


But still can't get anything work....

I had the same issue and the Epson site offered 2 downloads - the combo or straight printer. The Combo did not work. I just finally got the printer (v 8.61) worked. I had received the same error message as MizDolly described.
