Sure there is a good backup system will do that. A system will multiple backups done using different backup applications for each. Then test the backup system so that you know that the data is recoverable.

May 20, 2012 7:26 PM in response to Allan Eckertby SteveH,Do you know of a software that can find corrupted files, so I can get rid of them in the future, so as
to avoid another loose of files do to corruption situation?
Your discription of a mulitiple backup system, sound like more of an expense then the Mac and
very time consuming. Now, I think I know your response - what would be more time consuming
trying to find a missing file or backing up our files?
I do understand the need for really backing up files and we really thought we had a good method.
As previously menthioned we've been doing bootable EHD backups on a mothly basis - we will now do
them on a weekly basis. We also use thumb drives to save some files.
But, my question still remains. If a file becomes corrupt, does it matter how many times it gets backed up - the file still remains corrupt? Is there a way to fix a corrupt file without damaging or loosing its contents?
