If you delete an imessage history from your device, is there any way you can get the history log i.e. just to see what imessage was sent to a specific number? for SMS this is easily done from usage details on the phone bill, but imessage? I've seen comments about doing 'back up' or restore from iTunes but that makes no sense, if your phone already did a back up on icloud when you charged it... how is it done?

Ive never restored my device since I've had it- does restore do a clean wipe of everything though? (I noticed it takes like 2 hours from a laptop through iTunes)
We know phones are backed up everytime it's charged so it was backed up this morning, but I just need to see iMessage logs for the past week that were deleted.
Restoring will give me that?
