ios 5.1.1 ipod touch itunes crashes

Since I updated by 3rd Gen. iPod Touch to ios 5.1.1, trying to download certain podcasts using iTunes on the Touch such as Real Time with Bill Maher causes the iTunes app to crash (freeze or lock up). It is now impossible to download them on the Touch without a computer. Apple, you broke my Touch (again).
