Hi there,

I am interested in backing up my mac to the cloud. I currently use Time Machine. Does cloud have a feature that backs up entire system like time machine? Also, do I need to backup my OS or just content? My current memory usage is about 109GB. Any suggestions?

THank you!

iCloud does not offer Mac backup functionality. Backup is for iOS devices only.

My suggestion would be to continue to use Time Machine to an external drive. Aside from the fact that iCloud does not offer a backup service for your computer as pointed out by Julian, do you realise that with the average Internet connection speed and 109 GB of data, it would take you almost 11 days to backup your computer for the first time.

... and if your boot disk ever crashes, having a time machine backup will get you up and running in a few hours (after putting in a new disk).  A cloud backup will not really help in such situations.
