Safari can't open the page

Whenever I open safari or firefox i get a message:

safari cant open the page

The error is: "The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted" (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:1)

MacBook Pro, iOS 5.1.1

Try quitting Safari, then trashing Safari's preferences. Those preferences are located in this directory:


Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist.


Then launch Safari and see if things work as they should. If not, try resetting Safari. With Safari open click the Safari menu heading and select Reset Safari..., check all of the boxes then click the Reset button. Restart the computer and see if Safari runs smoothly then.


If it doesn't, I would download Safari again, throw away the current Safari and reinstall it. You can get it here:
