Where is the serial number on the receipt

Since we don't have a clue where you purchased your iPad, no one here would know. Some, but not all retailers show the serial number on the receipt. If you can't find it on your receipt, it's likely not there. If you want to find it on your iPad, you go to Settings > About and you can find it there. You can also look on the box your iPad came in.
