Find my iPhone doesn't show my device although logged into iCloud, Find my iPhone doesn't show my device although logged into iCloud

Please can anyone help. I had a new iPhone 4S and set it up immediately with an iCloud account. However, it doesn't matter what I do, Find My iPhone WILL NOT see it.

Frustrated!!!! 😕

Did you install the Find My iPhone app on the phone? Also, is the phone connected to WiFi?

I believe both are necessary for Find My iPhone to work

The Find My iPhone app has nothing to do with setting up the service. It's only an app to track devices. Have you gone into settings>iCloud and turned on "Find My iPhone" (near bottom of page)? This will turn on the service. You do not need to be connected to wifi either. (Last weekend, I was able to track my wife on the Mass Turnpike - clearly she did not have wifi connectivity there!).

I certainly do.

Just to be clear, I've already done the following.

a) set up an iCloud account (the one I'm using here)

b) installed 'Find my iPhone' on both the iPad and iPhone.

c) enabled Location Services (then disabled and enabled it again to make sure)

d) enabled 'Find my iPhone' in Settings (then disabled and enabled it again to make sure)

e) took a backup of the iPhone to iCloud to make sure I was connected

f) DELETED my iCloud account, and went through the whole process again.

g) disabled and re-enabled wifi in case it was that

h) set a reminder on the iPhone and checked on www.icloud.com to see if it had updated (it had)

i) I even checked the date settings because it was mentioned in the troubleshooting guide!!!

I honestly don't know what else to try. I've Googled to see if anyone else had a similar problem , but can't find anything other than the 'how-to' pages on apple support. It's as though I'm the only one to ever get this problem.

Baffled!!!

I had the same problem, but fortunately for me I found my answer in another Mac forum. I'm not sure if it applies to you, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

I was signing into iCloud with my apple ID and getting your same problem, so then I took that advice and tried signing in with my old Mobile Me sign-in instead and it worked.

Now my iPhone, and now that I did that with my other devices, all show up now. It was sooo frustrating for a bit, but it worked.

Best of luck.

I am having the same problem with the app not finding my iPad 3 and iMac. It has nothing to do with your network, router or DSL connection. Others can come in my home and find their devices when they use the app from their device. And yes, like the poster, I have done everything (even resetting my iPad) and still nothing. There is something wrong, but Apple is SILENT about it.

I had this same problem with my iPad3 since I purchased it a month ago. Today, I went under settings, ICLOUD, then find my iPhone and disabled and enabled the switch. It then asked to allow to use location, etc. THAT WORKED. I know you enabled and disabled many times, but was it just under settings, LOCATION, find my iPhone? This was specifically under settings, ICLOUD, Find My iPhone. Mind you, the switch was ALREADY ON when I tried this, but it hadn't been working until today.
