Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

This article is both poorly explained and ineffective.

The article doesn't tell you why you should do what it says, or what to watch out for when you do it. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't work. I have tried everything suggested and nothing works. Is there any way to get my PC to see my iPad? It hasn't done so in weeks.

There are hundreds of online entries on this subject, and none has a working answer!

That article has little to do with an iOS device not being recognized in iTunes, and is (rather clearly, I think) intended for advanced users to do in-depth troubleshooting. If you don't understand the "why" of the steps suggested, it's probably not something you want to attempt. Perhaps this article will be of more help:

I've tried everything on that article to no avail. The part that seems to be the blocker, at least for me, is that when I go to install the driver (usbaapl.inf), I get this error: 'the specified location does not contain information about your hardware"

I've seen that many have asked this, and none have ever received an answer. It's always, "install the driver" or "go to http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538" Seems the IT community is a bit stumped when it comes to this 😟 (some are dated from several years ago).

Any suggestions on where to go after receiving this error?

This suggestion from another post here is a bit old may be worth trying:

From Device Manager, Select the iPad (under imaging/Portable Devices) and then select "Update Driver", Don't direct it to automatically search for a driver, instead, manually point it to search in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers - It should then "do it's thing" and install the correct apple driver

Hope that helps.
