logic pro "delay" problem after 10.7.4

hey there

i have done the 10.7.4 osx update a few days ago and since that i have some weird " delay" troubles with my logic pro 9.1.7 on osx 10.7.4 using a mac pro!

first thing is that when i hit the space button on my keyboard to make logic play my loaded song there is about a second that logic needs to play it. same when i hit space again...logic needs about a second to stop the song! that was not the way logic was working before!!!!

same when i want to record vocals like i used to...i have some bad delay on my earphones when i try to record a vocal track!

it doesnt matter...32 or 64 bit

what can i do??????

Logic Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Just a thought - it may or may not be relevant - this kind of thing can occur if your recording hard drive is running low on free space.

Logic 9.1.7 works well under Lion. Nothing wrong with it.

You're probably using a TV via HDMI instead of a computer monitor...

Just go to the System Preferences and change the resolution to 1080p. That's it.

Then... if you still have latency while recording, well... just check if you have some heavy plug instanciated in the output track. If so, just take it off or put it in bypass.

Cheers

Hello,

I'm sorry but I have to disagree.

In my case (I'm a guitar player using audio interface and amp simulation systems) the exact same software/hardware combinaison that used to work like a charm until 100.7.3 started to have very noticeable latency problem since upgrading to 10.7.4

And I use an iMac so it's not a TV/HDMI problem....

In fact the latency problem is not with Lion as a whole but with Lion 10.7.4 (previous versions worked fine)

Please read my post above... there's nothing bad in Lion 10.7.4 related to audio.

You need to pay attention.. there's many, many complaints on this and other Logic boards regarding problems with 10.7.4 and Logic, and these are from professional users not hobbyists.

.. I can add : this 10.7.4 problem is not only Logic but globally audio related.

I jumped into this discussion by doing a search with 10.7.4 and latency, but I don't use Logic.

I use Reaper, Native Instruments software (Guitar Rig) IK Multimedia software (Amplitube); a M-Audio interface, a Native Instruments (Guitar Rig Kontrol) interface..and so on.

All this used to work perfectly before upgrade to 10.7.4 and now all these tools either hardware or software have a clear latency problem.

I'm not having latency issues but...

Yes, I have had some real headaches after updating to 10.7.4.

Updated OSX this week and now Logic CPU usage is through the roof when recording, even just one audio track. Also audio glitches when I scroll the screen during playback or recording. Glitches are recorded to the audio take...

Everything was fine before the update, so I'm pretty sure it's no coincidence

My setup is :

Logic Pro 9.1.7

Mac Pro 2xquad core 2.26ghz

OSX 10.7.4

Ram 6gb

Storage 1tb SATA

Fireface 800 audio interface

logic pro "delay" problem after 10.7.4
