Several of my apps on my 2nd gen iPod touch will only open for a split second before closing again,
Yet, others work fine. Any solutions?
(Maybe it's jealous I just got a new iPod touch running iOS 5.1.- I wanted the camera/scanner.)

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore. try those.
Have you tried a hard reset yet? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If that doesn't work, try downloading another free app from the App Store. This has been known to resolve the issue for a number of users.

Doing a reset didn't do it, but downloading another app worked!

Using that same concept I went an updated a random app and sure enough everything was back to normal. Great advice, thanks!
