Unable to publish

I'm VERY new to motion 5. I've got a whole bunch tga files that I can import into a project and get an 'animation' but have no joy in publishing them (fails to copy files) and I have no idea how to get the clip into FCPX short of rendering the animation as a movie....any ideas gratefully received!
