Turn Automatic Downloads Off

I have automatic downloads for Books and Applications set to OFF (music is ON) in the preferences for iTunes 10.6.1 (7).

Unforatunately, apps and books still download if I buy them on another device. Anyone know how I can get iTunes to act according to my settings?
