May 16, 2012 9:37 PM in response to EdmundfromATXby wiclee,Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store

Jul 31, 2012 6:00 PM in response to wicleeby dazman1964,Hi.
This worked for me too but the conflict was with Windows Live Essentials which I just uninstalled as I don't use anyway.
However it seems strange that iTunes was working fine for me one day and then started having all these problems the next - I wonder if this was because of a Windows update?
Anyhow, thanks very much

Aug 16, 2012 1:55 PM in response to wicleeby alexjames10000,I have the same problem... I own a windows computer with the most updated iTunes on it... and I ran autorun (and tried all the comments suggested before that)... it only came up with Apple's Bonjour thing... nothing else... I don't know what's wrong with my iTunes...

Aug 16, 2012 5:59 PM in response to alexjames10000by dazman1964,I thought that the auto runs solution had fixed my problem but it hadn't. Itunes still freezes when backing up or downloading music & pictures to my iphone. After deleting windows live essentials, all I see in the winsock now is bonjour also.
Very strange because it was working fine one day and then these issues started the next day.
