I'm in the process of setting up Lion Server but had a question. If I create a disk image to allow my clients to netboot is my server using that same disk image?
What I want to be able to do is install new plugins or fonts on my server, and just reboot my client machine to see the changes. Is that how it works? Is that even possible?

No, your server is using server software. You set up a client image for netboot.
