Q: software update error Error NSURLErrorDomain-1100(-1100)

trying to update fathers iMac G5. Internet connection works fine. Trying to do software update and get error message; A networking error has occured: Error NSURLErrorDomain-1100(-1100). Not sure what to do as I can connect to the internet no problem. Any suggestions?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Accounts, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does SWUPD work in the new account?
