not a bootable device
when i try to start my imac it says not a bootable device.what should i do?
Boot from the install DVD
Start Disk Utility and repair the disk

Sounds like the hard drive may have failed or your OS system is corrupted. What model are you using and what version of OS is installed on it? Do you have bootable installer discs for the computer?
I used an old discution in the right box and my mac is now working fine. thanks anyway
