I didn't have this problem until I switched over to my MBP. I am trying to print to a USB printer hooked up to a windows comp. on our network. I have gone through the set up. Chose Add Printer>More Printers>Windows Printing. It finds the host computer, but when I try to print I get the following error. "Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds...ERROR: Connection failed with error."
I had this problem with a Canon printer hanging on a Windows PC. I found the driver for it on the PowerBook I had at the time, but it still did not work. I found the install disk for the printer (which was both Windows/Mac) and ran the install from there. It worked great after that. This was a lot easier than having to reconfigure the PC name and printer name and then changing all the other Windows computers to find the printer.

PS: A plus is you can delete all the printer drivers that comes with the Mac (assuming you don't need any of them) and just load up the drivers from the install package for the printer. This will save you some MB's!
Most vendors have drivers available online for download. Just do a search on their website or at versiontracker.com
BTW, your signature is out-dated I guess...
