Bloated battery and the front lcd screen trying to pop out. Any ideas or fix.

The problem was not caused by a software update.
Take it in to the genius bar and get the phone replaced, or buy a new phone. Do NOT continue to use the phone. Do NOT keep it in your house or anywhere near flamable materials.
Thanks mate. Just wondering isn't it a case with poor workmanship or issue with a particular lot of batteries as came across quiet some cases with bloated batteries on google. Most importantly the battery and front was immaculate till couple of weeks back before i upgraded to ios5. till then it worked breeze.
There could be any number of causes, including moisture in the phone, a defective cell in the battery, or, as at least one unlucky person discovered, a botched repair by a 3rd party repair shop.
Speculation as to the cause is pointless. Take it in to Apple and see what they say.
Been to the genius repair today at apple. They say the battery life is over and thats causing the problems. Since this is out of warranty, offered me a replacement phone at $179. My take, if battery life is over it should just discharge fast and not show obnoxious behaviour of bloating with cracks on the backside.
I have a bloated battery on iphone 3gs? Seems like update to ios 5.01 caused it? Any ideas.
