I have my phone calls forwarded from my house phone to my iphone. Is there a way to have a separate ring tone for the calls that are forwarded from home versus the calls which come in directly to my cell phone?

Kilted Tim,

Here is where I am at:

- I set up a new phone number through google voice.

- forwarded my home phone (Vonage) to my google voice number.

Can you elaborate how I "Set up google voice to pass the google number instead of the caller number to the caller ID"? I'm having a hard time understanding this part 😟

Also do you know if I will be charged by google voice for every call that is forwarded to my cell phone?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Log into your Google Voice account from your computer. Go to Settings>Calls>Caller ID (Incoming) and select "Display My Google Voice Number".

Last I checked, Google doesn't charge for calls in the U.S. and to Canada. I can't speak for accounts in other countries (if they're available). I've had a $1 balance on my GV account since it was converted over from Grand Central and Google gave me the dollar.

Doesn't Vonage also have an app you can use on your phone so that your number will also ring on your cell phone? That might save you all the GV steps.
