Dead computer has all my music!
The computer with my iTunes account died - totally. It cannot turn on anymore. How do I access my iTunes account to transfer it to a new computer?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
Would iff I could. Disc has been missing since recent visit of nephews. What else?
I have a similar problem. I see my purchased music in itunes but when i try to download the songs, itunes wants me to buy them again. Please help, I have have over 4000 songs and can not afford to buy them again. thanks!

Did you follow directions in the link?
Yes, I even spoke to apple care. They said for me to go to the express lane, which I did, but nobody was there to answer my question...
I would be happy if I found a live person that would be able to help me. Feels like the support system just takes me in circles with no real answer.
You opened itunes?
Looked on the right side of the screen under Quick Links and clicked Purchased?
Any ideas?
I went to itunes and looked up purchased at the right side of the screen while the apple care tech was on the phone with me. He told me after I found all my music to hit download all, I did, and itunes asked me to buy it again. The teckh then asked me to go to the express lane, which seems to be a maze rather than an express lane. Any ideas?
were you able to resolve your itunes issue?
I did do all of that. While apple care was on the phone with me. They thought it was strange too. said I may have multiple accounts. I have had a few, but why would the music show up on my brand new computer when I use only one apple id and password???
Your purchases will show up under the ID you used to purchase them. the reason some may show up under whatever your current ID is would be because you purchased those with your current ID. Anything not purchased with that ID would not be able to be downloaded again with that specific ID. Your best bet is to contact iTunes support. Use the report a problem link in your Purchase history will get you the best response.
I did email them, I guess I have to wait 24 hours for the response. Do you know if they have a phone number?
Thanks!
You can call 1-800-275-2273, in the US, or you can go through Expresslane.apple.com to set up a callback from a representative. If you are looking for contact numbers in other countries you can refer to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
