Q: iDisplay Has botched my display settings....

I made the mistake of buying iDisplay. It somehow has managed to resize the login screen to some ridiculous resoluition like 640 x 700 or something, making the login screen useless, of course. I have deleted the com.apple.windowserver (there were 2, BTW- I get the impression there should ave been only one), Pram'd, and have discovered this is not an issue in safe mode (which means, SOMEWHERE in here, iDisplay is functioning like some sort of zombie). I have reset my display prefs in safe mode. I do not know or think this will help, however.

So... help, please?

I had a similar problem, idisplay seems to scale the screen resolution, which you can fix back to "best to retina" by following these instructions for changing resolution.

If it's not an issue in Safe Mode, let's go looking into which kernel extensions may be the culprit.

Open Terminal (Applications>Utilities) and copy and paste the following into Terminal:

kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'

press Return and then copy and paste the output from Terminal into a reply here. DO NOT do this in Safe Mode, just an ordinary startup.
