Upgrading to PHP 5

Hi,
I have installed PHP 5, but I cannot get PHP 4 to stop. Right now, they're both running simultaneously, but I would like to stop 4.
When I uncheck the box, and click apply, it rechecks itself!

Have you stopped or restarted Apache? You'll need to do that. Try stopping Apache, deselecting your PHP4 module, and then starting Apache.

Not sure if it's a cop-out, but I would suggest editing the httpd.conf file directly. I tend to not use the Server Admin interface for much.

You should only need to comment out the line:
LoadModule php4_module libexec/httpd/libphp4.so

Save and restart Apache. Then restart the Server Admin app and see if it shows your change.

thanks! that seems to work, but now Apache won't start and it gives me this message in the error log:

[Fri Mar 10 16:39:12 2006] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down

What do you get from:
username$ sudo apachectl configtest

Anything useful? The only in your error log is the one you listed, or there are others that precede it?

Syntax error on line 177 of /etc/httpd/httpd.conf:
Cannot add module via name 'mod_php4.c': not in list of loaded modules

I commented out line 177 and it seems to work now!
