Make genius bar appointment if you have apple care plus or purchased your phone within a year. If your phone shows no physical damage it will be covered by standard 1 year warranty.
Otherwise take your credit card with you. Worst case scenario they charge you 149 for a new phone plus tax.

Use Assistive Touch. Tap Settings App>General>Accessibility, near bottom>Assistive Touch, near bottom>turn ON>tap new white button>tap Device, touch and hold Lock Screen icon until "slide to power off" slider appears.
To turn ON iPhone connect to USB or Wall Charger.

Brad805. This works to turn off. Does this mean my power off button is busted? Do I need to do this from now on?

yes till you get it repaired. if it gets turned off you need to get the usb cable and plug into a computer or main power adapter that came with the phone to turn it on
