my macbook froze on the login page, how can i fix it?
version 10.6.8 OSx snow leapord or whatever animal. but yeah the cursor won't move... how do i fix it?

Boot in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you see the Desktop click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click Restart.
If that didn't help, boot from your install disk and follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks
