iPod touch
I've seen many cases like yours in the forums... Is it a defective serie?
Try putting it in DFU mode: when connected to PC with iTunes, press Power button for 3s. , then Power +Home for 10s. , and Home for 8s. . If the iPod isn't completely dead, it should appear in iTunes saying "An iPod in recovery mode has been detected". Try also charging it - maybe it's only your battery that is completely dead? Leave it for 30 minutes plugged in.
Hope that helped.
I Have tried that and is still not working
I have had this problem and have helped some of my friends with it. What you want to do is hold down the power and home button down for about 10 second the release them both. After you've done that, you just hold down the power button until you see you iPod turn on. It should work the first time you do it. If not try it again. I hope this helps.
I tried both of these. My son's ipod will show the battery icon that shows red with the little lightening bolt. It will not turn on or show the apple logo, and it will not charge. It was on two different chargers for the last 24 hours. The chargers both work for my ipad but are not helping charge the ipod. Any suggestions?
Also, the information has rubbed off of the back of the ipod, so I don't have the serial number. I can't get it since it won't connect to itunes either.
