It's completely missing and I need it to access certain apps.

On older keyboards, press F4. If on Lion, Control left arrow should take you back to the dashboard space.
If Dashboard is missing from the dock, you can drag a new copy there from the applications folder.
Yes. I used to be able to press F4 and it would come up. Now nothing comes up, and when I try to open it from the dock and applications, nothing happens.
Is it the iPad or the iMac. And what OS are you running with. Greatly helps if full details are in your profile (though yours is not bad compared to some).
