Why are podcasts not updating via iCloud

My devices are phone4s, Mac Book Pro, and iPad2 and syncing of podcasts is no longe working. The only thing different is that I signed out of iTunes on the MacBook I recently gave my son. It says I am signed to my account. My iPhone 4s shows up under devices. It also wiped out all of my previously subscribed to podcasts on my MB Pro.
