Q: error occurred 1429

iPod classic said it would restore to original settings after hooking up to computer. Did this & then "error occurred 1429". What does this mean & how to fix it?

    Are you running the latest version of iTunes and have all of the latest updates and patches from Microsoft applied to your PC?

     

    Once you have verified that, also check the PC's manufacturer's website to make you have all the latest BIOS, firmware, chipsets, and drivers installed.

     

    Next, try temporarily disabling your A/V or security software as it may be inteferring with the restore process.  Same thing goes other devices that connected via USB.  Remove them and leave only your keyboard and mouse (if it's a desktop).

     

    This error can also be the result of a faulty/damaged sync able, so try a different one if at all possible.
