Q: Can I connect audio to the TV for later model MacBook Pros?

I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro and I got an HDMI mini Displayport to HDMI Adapter, but the audio doesn't transfer. Any idea if I need a different cord/cable etc?

If audio isn't passed then you will need to use the stereo audio out (headphone) jack on your MBP.

You need a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo jack at one end and (presumably) RCA jacks on the TV end.  These can be found most anywhere like your local Radio Shack or monoprice.com.

Note if the TV doesn't use RCA sockets for it's audio in then whatever it uses there's a audio cable or adapter for it for these same or similar sources.  Audio cables and adapters come in many combinations.
