iPhoto does not import from iPhone

iPhoto stopped importing from all sources. It used to work perfectly.

I tried 3 iPhones (4 and 4S) and 2 cameras (Nikon and Sony); to no avail.

I am updated in terms of OS and iPhoto; I run Lion on a new Mac Air.

Any ideas????

Thanks

L.

That is exactly what I though so I used another cable (borrowed from a friend and it was working on his MAC) and changed USB port (the port that I use connecting to Ethernet and that works well).

again no results.

(by the way the cable I use for the cameras is different to the cable I use for the iPhones)

Of course I restarted the MAC and I also ploayed around the sequence:

- start iPhoto first

- Insert USB first

- make sure iTunes is on

- make sure iTunes os off

and a permutation of the above

I have the exact same problem. No show in either iPhoto og Imaga Capture.
I've:

Restarted and reset everything. Including my brain. No worky

Tried 3 different USB cables. No worky

Deleted iPod Photo Cache from iPhoto package. No worky

Restored iPhone. No worky

Re-installed iPhoto. No Worky

Search the ENTIRE web. No worky-aroundy

Never before not been able to fix a thing like this.. It's driving me insane.

No show in either iPhoto og Imaga Capture.

So that eliminates iPhoto as the issue - is this an iPhone (if so try resetting it - and/or posting in the iPhone forum) or a camera (if so then get a card reader and use it - once your photos are safely on your computer and backedup use yoru camera to reformat your camera mamory card

Hi Larry,

Thanks for taking the time and sorry about the lack of info.

I am running:
MacOSX Mavericks 10.9 (MacBookPro 2.5 i5). iOS7 (7.0.4) - iPhone5, iPhoto (9.5) & iTunes (11.1.3). Everything should be up to date.

I've reset the phone and even restored it.

iPhoto has been re-installed as well, even though I'm not sure if that has any effect at all, since all the files stays in the "pictures/iphoto" folder. Maybe I could copy my masters and sorting, then delete and re-install? Do you by any chance know which files precisely?

No show in either iPhoto og Imaga Capture.

again since the issues is the same in two different applications that points to the source - not the application - or to the OS

Post in the iPhone forum or reinstall the OS = there is a way to do that easily according to Old Toad's posts - I have not personally tested doing the OS restore
