I want zoom handles back on my scroll bars

How long has it been now, and when are we going to get these back? Zoom handles have always been an integral component of the user interface, I cannot imagine why they were taken away unless by simple error, but then one assumes it is just a bit of code that got dropped off and surely can be restored just as easily ..... how do we know the Gods on Mount Olympus are even listening? 😐
