May 21, 2012 11:34 AM in response to stedman1by emeralds1,Thank you. According to that app its the A1181. I'm reading that Apple has it listed at a max of 2GB ram but you can install two 2GB sticks and have it read 3GB of it. Can anyone tell me exactly which 2x2GB RAM I need?

May 21, 2012 1:57 PM in response to stedman1by emeralds1,I saw that but am still not exactly sure what to search for on amazon, ebay, etc.
Also as I'm quite accustom to Lion/magic trackpad is there a way to use the trackpad on this to swipe back and forward at all?

May 21, 2012 9:35 PM in response to emeralds1by frederic1943,In your first post you have it listed as a Core Duo which is the model 1,1 not 2,1. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

May 21, 2012 10:53 PM in response to emeralds1by frederic1943,No the Early 2006 model 1,1 is limited to 2gb of RAM. Here's the specs on it http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook_2.0_black.html
The trackpad is limited to two finger scrolling only http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3448 The multi touch trackpad didin't come in until the Late 2008 model 5,1. You can use a bluetooth Magic Trackpad http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC380LL/A

May 21, 2012 11:01 PM in response to frederic1943by emeralds1,Isn't 2GB just what Apple says but can actually still be extended to 3GB? Googling the black macbook I saw lots of information about this.
